Great literature in Chur: The Chur City Library has launched a new series of events. Twice a year, winners of Swiss literary prizes read from their works in the city library, bringing top-class Swiss and Graubünden literature to Chur.

The readings will be moderated by podcaster, cultural journalist and presenter Esther Schneider (www.estherschneider.ch/). Esther Schneider was head of the cultural department of Swiss Radio SRF for 11 years. Since autumn 2022, she has been a member of the Aargau Board of Trustees with the Literature Department. She is also on the board of the Solothurn Literature Days. In her literary podcast "LiteraturPur", Esther Schneider talks to nationally and internationally renowned authors about her books.
Esther Schneider is an integral part of the "Big Words" series.

The events "Big Words" are each framed by an accompanying program. The culinary well-being will be provided by the aperitif after the reading.

The new series begins with a coup: the Engadine author Leta Semadeni, who was awarded the Grand Prix for Literature 2023 for her life's work at the beginning of this year, reads from her award-winning work "Amur, great river". A novel between a mountain village and Ecuador, between love and loss, between youth and old age. Semadeni knows better than anyone how to reproduce moods in a reduced and poetic way.

The reading will be atmospherically accompanied by the Swiss-American Graubünden resident and winner of the Culture Prize Robert Grossmann with works for lute from several centuries.
