The Ensemble Quartettin (Cristina Vital, flute - Laura Zangger, violin - Ruth Michael, viola - Anita Jehli, violoncello) is dedicated to chamber music literature for flute and string trio. The 2023 concerts will focus on the well-known work in D major by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, whose slow middle movement is probably one of the most beautiful movements for this instrumentation. Ferdinand Ries, a pupil of Ludwig van Beethoven, has composed several flute quartets and is wrongly far too little on the concert programmes. His music is exciting as well as imaginative and technically extremely interesting and demanding for all voices. Paul Müller Zurich is one of the most important musical personalities of the 20th century. He worked as a composer, conductor and pedagogue. He influenced many Swiss musicians as a teacher of music theory in over 40 years at the Zurich Conservatory. The string trio from 1950 shines as a virtuoso, neoclassical bravura piece. The concert opens with "Solitudine" by Gion Antoni Derungs, written in 2009.
