Literary criticism

In 2022, the focus of the "Literary Science" series will be on music. With a close connection to Graubünden, the theme is brought to life in various facets: Authors from Matilde Serao to Friedrich Dürrenmatt bring the salon orchestras to the fictitious stage of the Engadine grand hotels and tell what they were able to observe themselves and are now being researched. The sound revolution that the gramophone triggered in sanatoriums and health resorts can be discovered with Thomas Mann's Zauberberg protagonist Hans Castorp. And finally, the story of an exemplary musical life shows how Rhaeto-Romanic singing culture and avant-garde come together.
