He did it again! After his long-distance hike across Switzerland on the Via Alpina and the Jura Höhenweg, the Winterthur photographer dared to do it again. Corrado Filipponi once again walked almost 1,000 kilometres across Switzerland, this time from north to south. He used the hiking routes Trans Swiss Trail and Via Gottardo as trails. Among other things, the adventurer crossed the Gotthard Pass and a total of almost 25,000 metres in altitude.

The Trans Swiss Trail from Porrentruy to Mendrisio in Ticino is one of the last adventures on foot through the diverse landscapes of Switzerland. From the Jura, the long-distance hiking trail leads through the Seeland to the Fribourg and Bern region. Via Emmental and Entlebuch it goes to Lake Sarner and Lake Lucerne.

Shortly before Erstfeld, the Via Gottardo joins the Trans Swiss Trail. Filipponi has already started this in Basel. Via Baselland, Solothurn, Aargau and Lucerne he hiked to Lake Lucerne and on to Altdorf and Erstfeld. Here in the canton of Uri, he visited the SVZ, the heavy traffic centre that handles the majority of the approximately one million trucks that cross the Alps every year.

On legendary mule tracks, the Trans Swiss Trail and Via Gottardo routes reach the highest point together with the Gotthard Pass and continue from there on their own paths through Ticino.

One on the Strada alta above the Leventina, the other through the Leventina. They both lead on different routes to Biasca and in a day's stage from there to the cantonal capital Bellinzona. The two routes continue to meander on different paths into the south of Ticino. While the Trans Swiss Trail ends in Mendrisio, the Via Gottardo still leads south to Chiasso.

Also in his new Multivision Wanderland Schweiz 2 Corrado Filipponi reports again authentic, funny and with wonderful photos. He has once again beautifully captured the beauty and diversity of Switzerland. The Trans Swiss Trail is one of the favourites
