Event Chur
to convert old fabric patterns rewoven

Description
daily
The exhibition, entitled "to re-weave old fabric patterns", shows twenty-seven hand-woven panels of fabric, mainly made of wool, with different patterns. The fabric panels were created with interruptions over a period of three years.
The work on the handloom was preceded by various visits to the archive of the Rhaetian Museum in Haldenstein, accompanied by Annina Dosch (responsible for the textile collection), where, among other things, many hand-woven fabrics are stored protected in countless drawers.
On the basis of these historically significant fabric patterns with woven motifs, such as rhombus, star, bird, etc., new patterns, combinations and variations could be tested and implemented with eight - ten shafts.
The photographs of the fabrics I have selected from the collection provided by the Rhaetian Museum are also part of the exhibition.
