The «Badi Sand» is iconic and known for its refreshing water temperature! That's because the historic swimming pool in the heart of the old town is idyllically situated in the shadow of the cathedral and is an insiders' tip for visitors to Chur. The 50m-pool with separate non-swimmer area is a welcome way to cool off on hot summer days and the beautiful sunbathing lawn and wooden patio offer an inviting spot to relax.

100 years of «Badi Sand»
The Chur Swimming Club was founded in 1921 to encourage the people of Chur to swim when the Chur Swimming Centre (Sand outdoor pool) opened in 1922. In 2022, Sand outdoor pool turned 100 years old. More information.

The playground Altes Stadtspital is very picturesque with its equipment made of gnarled wood. The large space with plenty of seating invites visitors of all ages to stay and enjoy the day.

 The Quader playground has a wide variety of equipment for children of all ages. Modern toys and equipment, a patch of grass in the sun and a wild hedgerow to hide in or explore. This playground invites its visitors to an adventure. The adjacent school sports facility Quader/Montalin complements the range of activities.

This slightly hidden playground in the old town is great fun thanks to a climbing tower with tube slide, a hammock and a seesaw.

 In the south-western part, a playground with equipment offers everything for children and toddlers. The eastern part includes a pump track for those children, teenagers or adults who want to take a spin on a bike. A pump track is a looping cycle track with waves and banked curves. The curves allow you to accelerate without needing to propel your bike, skateboard or whatever vehicle you brought.
