The exhibition by Diego Giacometti (1902-1985) is designed as a large and comprehensive retrospective dedicated to an artist who skilfully moved between applied works and free art.
If Diego Giacometti has always been presented in relation to his famous brother Alberto ("Diego steps out of the shadows"; "The Other Giacometti"), the exhibition claims to pay tribute to the artist's work as an independent work. What is known is that Diego Giacometti's success story only begins after Alberto's death. The exhibition makes it clear that his artistic beginnings lie much earlier. For the first time, works by the artist can be shown that were previously largely unknown and laid the basis for later work.
The exhibition extends over both buildings of the Bündner Kunstmuseum and takes into account the different perspectives of this work in its layout: In the Villa Planta, a former private house, the objects appear as furniture in the context of the Graubünden art collection with works by his father Giovanni Giacometti and his brother Alberto Giacometti; in the extension building, on the other hand, the focus is on the work process and numerous models are on display. In addition, the exhibition provides a comprehensive insight into Diego Giacometti's treasure trove of forms and motifs, which forms the basis of his artistic work.

The exhibition, curated by Stephan Kunz and Casimiro Di Crescenzo, was created in close collaboration with the "Musée des Arts décoratifs" in Paris. The artist Vaclav Pozarek (*1940), who has already appeared several times with innovative and specific forms of presentation, has been won over for the design of the exhibition.

For the latest exhibition, the Cantonal Hospital of the Grisons has invited the glass artist Hubert Crevoisier to set up his studio in the hospital for a few days a year. Crevoisier, a magician of light, uses his art of coloured glass to create spaces where he invites patients and staff for an hour "on prescription". And that is to look over the artist's shoulder, to talk or remain silent, to collaborate on his own sculpture or the joint work, so that mind and emotions open up when words no longer know what to do.

Valerio Meuli paints, draws and writes. But in his first exhibition – which he can do in the "Werkstatt" – he shows prints. And that is lino prints: the medium that many probably still know from school and is considered relatively unsexy. Most of the works on display were created in the fall of 2024 during a stay in Paris.

Moments... or not! Since the artist could no longer recognize the fine brush contours, she began to paint with her fingers.

Mrs. Emerita Valaulta-Gliott exhibits her paintings in the GalariaBurgaisa on the 1st floor of the Sentupada Church and Cultural Center.

Matias Spescha (1925 - 2008) was a Swiss painter, sculptor and graphic artist. In the early 1960s, Spescha devoted himself intensively to the exploration of abstract forms, influenced by Informel and Abstract Expressionism. In 1970, he shifted his focus to the creation of sculptures and the design of walls and rooms. Until his death, his works were characterized by a formal proximity to American Minimal Art and left a lasting impression on the art scene.

The spring exhibition is dedicated to woodcuts - a cross-section of prints from the last 120 years or so by Giovanni Giacometti, E. L. Kirchner, Hermann Scherer, Paul Camenisch, Albert Müller, Martha Cunz, Philippe Bauknecht, Georg Peter Luck, Bruno Gentinetta, Emil Hungerbühl, Renato Oggier, Per Kirkeby and many more. The exhibition is complemented by two works on loan from the Franz Gertsch Museum, as well as works by contemporary artists Gian Häne and Ruth Pleschko.

Namibia – a country in southern Africa – gained its independence in 1990, 35 years ago, making it an amazingly young country. The history and traditions of the peoples who lived here, on the other hand, go back a long way. Thousands of years old rock paintings impressively document the earliest cultures. Modern history, on the other hand, has been dramatically shaped by colonialism and apartheid.

Against this background, the term "young GeNerATION" in the title of the exhibition refers to artists who were born at the time of independence and share a social and political affiliation. It also includes all those who explore the nature of Namibia as a newly emerging nation, including artists who were active before independence but have contributed to the current discourse in recent decades by searching for new themes and expressions.
The exhibition at the Forum Würth Chur is based on a collection of works in the Würth Collection, which was first presented to the public in 2016 at the Museum Würth in Künzelsau in cooperation with the National Art Gallery of Namibia in Windhoek.
