Chur Cathedral, the sacred centre of one of the oldest dioceses in Switzerland, was built as a Romanesque basilica in the 12th/13th century on the foundations of its older predecessors.

You will be guided through the cathedral with its rich furnishings from numerous eras by Manuel Janosa, who accompanied the last restoration from 2003-07 and who will give you an understanding of the current, previously unpublished state of research.

The Sunday School team under the direction of Ursina Ratti-Nydegger is delighted.

On the slope of Chur's Mittenberg, above the episcopal courtyard with castle and cathedral, lie the spectacular remains of St. Stephen from the 5th/6th century. Once laid out as a tomb of the early bishops of Chur, large parts of the complex fell into disrepair during the early modern period. Today encased in the Graubünden Cantonal School and restored in a museum, this unique site invites visitors to immerse themselves in times long past. Manuel Janosa, a building researcher from the Archaeological Service of the Grisons, gives a tour of the complex.
