Calabrun

The name Calabrun means "twilight" in Occitan, a symbol of the fluid transition between day and night. The Graubünden formation has dedicated itself to the fascinating sound universe of the handpan. Their warm, spherical sound runs like a metallic-red thread through the trio's music. Accompanied by flute, recorder, percussion, electric bass and vocals, a very special kind of world music is created.

Calabrun plays his own compositions as well as arranged interpretations of songs and rhythms from different regions of the world and combines instrumental music with singing and drum sounds – sometimes pulsating and groovy, sometimes floating and meditative – always with room for improvisation.

A dance and music performance that will appear on an equal footing, together, as a soloist or only in its own disciplines. The weight of the air: or 1,225 kg/m3 (15 °C / 0 m a.s.l.) – A performance about the importance of air. A music, sound and movement journey through the different facets of air – in physics, in life, in philosophy, in language. The air is everywhere.

Three men who are quite capable of going through the roof if they want to. Each of them has always had a sense of delicacy, of the overtone over the moment of attack and of the spaces between the sounds. Corsano's rhythms, even when he plays freely, are like cobwebs on a foggy morning. Butcher is a master of subtle overtones, the accidentals that surround the tones and come back from the walls and the audience. Stoffner has the same precision in touch and the same sense of absolute detail. The guitar is an instrument of extraordinary refinement, full of secret sounds: sighing, strumming like a music box, emitting great chords.

Pippi celebrates her birthday
The colourful musical for young and old

Gaudy songs, lots of fun and colourful hustle and bustle – the most famous girl with the red braids is celebrating her birthday! Pippi and her friends will return to the Swiss stages again from October 2025.

For her birthday, Pippi has invited her friends Tommy and Annika. Together they experience shipwreck, search for ghosts in the attic of Villa Villekulla and eat the world's very best birthday cake. But what do the two crooks Blom and Donner-Karlsson want? Wishing Pippi a happy birthday? Or maybe steal Pippi's suitcase with gold coins?

A colourful, exciting stage spectacle with great music and fabulous performers. Great fun for young and old, wonderfully staged by Brigitt Maag.

With nostalgic evergreens and German chansons, the programme conjures up the Berlin of the 20s – around the unfortunately forgotten singer and cabaret artist Max Hansen (the first head waiter Leopold in Benatzky's "Weissen Rössel am Wolfgangsee") – and lets its audience immerse itself in a bygone world.

Max Hansen is one of the great entertainment stars of the Weimar Republic as a singer, cabaret artist and actor. Among other things, he was the first head waiter Leopold at the "White Horse Inn" and co-founder of the KaDeKo (cabaret of comedians) in Berlin. After sharp-tongued chansons, he emigrated first to Vienna, and finally in 1938 to Copenhagen, his mother's country of origin. Like many other exiled artists, Max Hansen was no longer able to return to his heyday in post-war Germany and died in 1961 at the age of 63 – in poor health after a stroke and a heart attack.

The story of Prince Augustin, who, as a swineherd, wants to fulfill the princess's wishes in order to win her heart. If you want to know if you succeed, come to the puppet game.
Based on Hans Christian Andersen's art fairy tale, which criticizes the arrogance and arrogance of the better-off society. The freely narrated production by Justina Derungs encourages to overcome some boundaries and invites the audience to immerse themselves in a colorful fairy tale world for 45 minutes. A colourful interplay of stage design, characters, songs and instrumental music make the play a sensual experience.

The Ensemble Quartettin with Cristina Vital (flute), Laura Zangger (violin), Ruth Michael (viola) and Anita Jehli (violoncello) came together in 2020 for a concert series. Since then, the Ascension Concerts with 4 performances each throughout Graubünden have been an integral part of the agenda of the four musicians.
In 2025, Rebecca Würth (violin) will join them, turning the quartet into a quintet.
The programme includes Vivaldi's «Il Gardellino» for flute and string quartet, the 5 pieces for string quartet by Erwin Schulhoff and «»Theme and Variations» op. 80 by the composer Amy Beach, who is unknown in this country and who was already very successful in the USA during her lifetime (1867 – 1944).
