The municipality of Zizers is located in the north of the canton of Graubünden, in the middle of the Chur Rhine Valley.  In addition to nature, which is easily accessible around Zizers by public transport such as bus or train, the surrounding area has many interesting neighboring towns and communities to offer that are worth a visit. In Zizers, no one needs to go hungry due to the number of restaurants. The spectrum ranges from Italian restaurants, Chinese restaurants to restaurants with German cuisine. For sports enthusiasts, there is the pump track in Zizers. The pump track Zizers, built in 2016, nestled in a beautiful landscape with lots of forest and open space, is located on the outskirts of the village of Zizers.   With a length of 240 metres, the asphalt circuit with 10 banked curves and 42 bumps is one of the longest in the canton of Graubünden. Some benches at the edge of the forest and a beautiful lark fountain with drinking water also invite parents and grandparents to linger together with the young people and children. Right next to the facility is the children's playground "Föhrenwäldli" with an open fireplace for grilling, wooden tables with benches, play equipment for the little ones and a toilet facility. Parking is also available. The facilities can be used free of charge by locals and tourists from near and far during the snow-free period.

The residential community of Untervaz is located on the left side of the Graubünden Rhine Valley and nestles harmoniously in the corner of the Val Cosenz, at the foot of the Calanda. The Haldensteiner Calanda (2806 m above sea level) forms the highest point of the municipality. Three castle ruins belong to Untervaz, all of which were left to decay by their last owners: 2 km southeast of the village lies the ruins of Neuburg on a rocky head above the Rhine. To the west of the village, in a narrow and damp crevice in the Valcosenz lies the ruins of Rappenstein Castle from the 13th century. Today, only remnants of the third Friewis Castle and the bath that operated there can be seen. The water of two springs had healing properties.

The municipality of Trimmis has exceptional local recreation areas in the area of leisure activities. Hiking, jogging, biking and much more are possible from the valley to the highest mountains. The so-called Witenen against Chur have a special appeal. Their dry stone walls, pastures, hedgerows and forests are of great importance as a local recreation area. The magnificent view of the Calanda, the Falknis, the Vial and the Caral, the local mountain of Trimmis, high above Stams, as well as the sunny location invite you to dream.

The slender tower, which was raised in 1698, pulled the whole church skywards with it, so to speak. The choir and nave were lengthened in 1711 and now stand together as one harmonious, unadorned, and sacred work of art. The church is mentioned in 1340 as St. Andrew's Church, and later it was established as a Reformed church in 1644. The cemetery makes an open connection to the former royal court (mentioned in 955).

The church is nestled against the castle hill, finding shelter for itself and its visitors. This impression is supported by the almost completely closed facades facing north and west. The sacral, Gothic choir room stands in dialogue with the nave, which is dominated by wooden fixtures. The galleries on the northern and western walls were built due to the lack of expansion possibilities.

The cubic, palazzo-shaped building with a flat hipped roof guides the visitor to the church via the spacious staircase on its northern side. This section houses the secretariat of the Protestant parish and the playgroup; and merges seamlessly with a shallower section with a steep gabled roof turned 90 degrees. The levels of the second floor are different.

The first documented mention of "Zizers" dates back to 955 AD. Emperor Otto I. donated the "Hof Zizers" to the troubled episcopal church of Chur. The present-day Catholic church is mentioned in 1410. Beneath it there are remains of a first church dating from around the 11th century. The present baroque church was consecrated to the patron saints Petrus and Paulus in 1696.

Metal friezes outline the foundations of the medieval Curtis, which translates to royal court. In the Middle Ages, the term "Curtis" refers to a larger dominion with estates, bondsmen, special rights and administrative and agricultural courts. In contrast to the wooden buildings of the peasant population, the very prosperous Curtis of Zizers had representative stone buildings here.

The ruins of Alt-Aspermont Castle, situated to the south and 180 metres higher than the Molinära estate, are the former ancestral seat of the von Aspermont family (in the service of the Diocese of Chur). The Molinära farmstead, among other things, belonged to the castle until the move to Jenins in the middle of the 13th century. In 1275, Bishop Conrad III of Belmont gave Old Aspermont to Baron Walter IV of Vaz, together with the farms Molinära, Trimmis and Tomils. It was returned to the Roman Catholic Diocese of Chur in 1299.

Once a chapel on the southern edge of the village, the church now stands its ground as a harmonious building with an onion tower almost in the middle. It is a simple church with wide, round arches on all sides under a large cross vault and a Gothic choir. Large windows featuring symbolised features of Jesus emphasise the light, sacred character of the church.
